Lobo, rescued from a scary fate at the Bowie Livestock Auction in Texas, is a beautiful example of what a survivor looks like... It was clear upon rescue that Lobo had been through a whole awful lot. His coat was ragged, he was covered in scars, far too skinny for his large size.
His eyes a tragic window to his completely shut-down soul.
Rescue Ranchito was compelled to turn this horse's life around. After three months of rest, rehab, and unconditional love, Lobo has taken a turn. Joy has returned to his eyes. He has begun to lean into the love, knowing he is worthy of kindness and respect.
We believe not only is Lobo very visually striking, he is also a living, breathing example of what perseverance looks like: it is bold, it is beautiful, it is choosing to step into your own.
